Logan Botanic Gardens is in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland: yes, Scotland.
The South West of Scotland is warmed by the Gulf Stream and there are quite a few gardens in the coastal area near Stranraer. This one has trees and other flora from around the world and there are some fine Australian gum trees on the low hill to the right.
My visit here last week was in the pleasant company of members of the Stewartry Camera Club. I found the beautiful weather a great challenge for photography and tried bracketing and underexposing but the contrast of bright sunlight and deep shadows made for very harsh images.
Logan Gardens presented gorgeous but highly complex subject matter and required a highly selective approach to photography which for most of the time defeated me!
