National Scenic Area

Fleet Bay in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland is designated a National Scenic Area but discussion is taking place about the possibility of the whole region becoming a National Park. The quality of the landscape is a big factor and if this comes to pass, the impact through increased tourism would be of huge benefit to this quiet farming and fishing economy.

      1. Actually we’ve had some bright sunny days, though cold, and I took a hike up one of those hills in the background on Friday. The views were magnificent. Huh, that reminds me, i need to take the images off the camera…. eventually…
