No teddy bears picnic though, just the sweet smell of decaying timber, damp earth, and the sounds of the ocean coming through the wood that fringes Brighouse Bay.
The woods at Brighouse Bay are a favourite place for a short walk with the dog and here is another example that was taken in February ten years ago.
I have an autumn exhibition to prepare for and one range of images that are under consideration involve woodland and forest scenes, as well as trees in the landscape. Some of these will definitely appear as monochrome images, but in the meantime here is a Brighouse Bay woodland scene as shafts of light penetrate through the trees to illuminate an ancient dyke.

Brighouse Bay lies just west of Kirkcudbright on the south coast of Scotland and is seen here in its wintertime colours. The view is looking north.
