I think that this is probably the last picture for the time being that was taken at the Victorian Town at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum and it shows a portrait of the harness maker in his workshop.

The Victorian Town is a brilliant venue for photography, so put it on your list of places to visit. The Ironbridge Gorge Museum is close to Telford in Shropshire and the area was the cradle of the Industrial Revolution in England.

Barmaid

Not only can museums be highly photogenic places, but here the staff were at ease with having their pictures taken which allowed me to add to my collection of environmental portraits without the sometimes tricky need to negotiate. In most other situations you would have to explain why you wanted to take a picture.

Another of my Ironbidge Gorge museum pictures taken at the Victorian town. This barmaid wasn’t just for decoration though, as the pub was a working establishment serving a wide range of real ale.

 

The Doctor’s Wife

This is another charming period scene taken inside the house of a doctor that is a recreation of a nineteenth century property at the Victorian town of the Ironbridge Gorge Museum next to the river Severn in Shropshire, England.

I love the way that local people who work here manage to get into the character of the times through their dress and manner.

 

Blakemore’s Shop

This is Blakemore’s grocery store and is one of many Victorian period shops at the Blists Hill Museum at Ironbridge in Shropshire. This is one of a series of images taken on our visit here with the family, so there are more to come.
