Japanese Steam

C62-2,  a 4-6-4 express passenger steam locomotive. This one was used for the Tsubame limited express. Built by Hitachi in 1948.

The locomotive is seen standing on the turntable at the Kyoto Railway Museum.

 

Kyoto Steam

Our first visit to Japan was in 2002 and we were fortunate to be able to visit the wonderful railway museum in Kyoto. So this is one of my early digital photographs.
