The Moon & The Lighthouse

A final view of our local lighthouse that’s located at the mouth of Kirkcudbright Bay on the small Little Ross Island. This view was taken after the sun had set to our right and the moon was traversing the southern sky.

 

Twilight

The sun has set and the island is bathed in the afterglow as night time advances in the eastern sky. Already starting to glimmer; the lights of Kirkcudbright can be seen to the North. The time is approaching when we must return to the boat and head for home.

Little Ross Island lies at the mouth of Kirkcudbright Bay in Dumfries & Galloway.

 

Ross Island Lighthouse

We landed on tiny Ross Island as the sun was setting and as we made our way up to the lighthouse the Earth’s shadow was climbing in the East, which meant that we would be sailing back down the bay in the gloaming.
